Hours: 1st shift

Summary: The Packaging Technician 1 & 2 responsibilities include detecting and identifying defect trends during the inspection of manufactured products, accurately inspecting and selecting product samples for quality and stability testing, and verifying product and diluent vial labeling for accuracy. Additional duties involve setting up, operating, troubleshooting packaging equipment, and conducting quality checks.

  • Perform paced inspections of final container products for defects.
  • Document tasks on Batch Production Records (BPR), SOPs, or other forms.
  • Maintain department housekeeping and adhere to safety and cGMP policies.
  • Meet visual inspection recertification requirements.
  • Set-up, operate, and troubleshoot packaging equipment; manually package products; inspect packaged products; conduct counts; and operate material handling equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work effectively in a team, pass vision testing, identify product defects per PDA Lexicon, and maintain focus during activities.

Requirements: Tech 1 - High School Diploma; experience in packaging inspection preferred. Tech 2 - HS Diploma; 1-year packaging inspector experience in pharma/biotech environment. Must work in a manufacturing setting with rotating shifts and potential exposure to biological fluids, chemicals, and machinery. Physical requirements include standing, lifting, reaching, and manual dexterity.
