Packaging Tech 1/Packaging Tech 2

Hours: Day shift (Mon - Fri / 7:00 am - 3:30 pm)

Summary:

The responsibilities of Packaging Technician 1 & 2 include detecting and identifying defect trends during the inspection of manufactured products, accurately inspecting and selecting product samples for quality and stability testing, performing labeling activities, and verifying product and diluent vial labeling for accuracy.

Packaging Tech 1:

• Perform paced inspections of final container products for defects.
• Document tasks on Batch Production Records (BPR), SOPs, or other forms.
• Maintain department cleanliness and adhere to safety and cGMP policies.
• Meet visual inspection recertification requirements.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot packaging equipment.
• Perform manual packaging, inspect products, and conduct counts.
• Operate material handling equipment as needed.
• Set up and operate label verification systems and related equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to work effectively in a team, pass vision and inspection certifications, identify product defects per PDA Lexicon, and focus consistently during activities.

Requirements:

High School Diploma; experience in packaging inspection preferred.

Packaging Tech 2:

• Perform duties similar to Tech 1, with additional troubleshooting and equipment changeover responsibilities.
• Set up and operate serialization and labeling equipment.
• Deliver samples for testing and review data in systems like LIMS, SAP.
• Maintain knowledge of product specifications and document rejected label causes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Same as Tech 1, with additional technical proficiency.

Requirements:

HS Diploma and 1-year packaging inspector/label verification experience, preferably in pharma/biotech.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing setting with biological, chemical, electrical hazards, and physical demands including standing, lifting, and working in confined spaces. Personal protective equipment required.
