Job summary

SK Food Group is hiring a Packaging Technician in Tolleson, AZ to operate production machinery and troubleshoot issues. The role emphasizes safety, setup, changeovers, and ensuring correct packaging components and labels throughout the shift.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent, basic troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with reading electrical and mechanical drawings. Prior related experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate in mechanical studies preferred.
• Minimum 6 months related experience or training.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to read equipment manuals and diagrams.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery and troubleshoot when needed.
• Set up and operate machine within safety practices and time frame.
• Perform setting adjustments and film/ribbon changes including dye changes.
• Ensure proper components and dates on products before packing.
• Continuously check labels, seals and date placement during shift.
• Fill out required run documentation and monitor for downtime.
• Communicate with Supervisors and other Technicians about issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a Packaging Technician to join our team in Tolleson, AZ. Reporting to the Manufacturing,the Packaging Technician will Operate production machinery and troubleshoot when needed.

Reports To: Manufacturing Supervisor

FLSA Status: Hourly

Role Summary:

Operate production machinery and troubleshoot when needed.

• Responsible for the set up and operation of the machine within accepted safety practices and the allotted time frame.
• Properly perform necessary setting adjustments.
• Properly perform film changes and ribbon changes including changeover from one dye to another.
• Ensure the products have the correct components before packing them.
• Continuously check the label, seals and date placement throughout the shift to ensure that every package label and date is correct.
• Fill out and sign all required documentation before each run.
• Monitor equipment operation to prevent unscheduled downtime.
• Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, Production Leads and other Packaging Technicians on any situations arising during their shift.
• Other duties as assigned.

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certificate from accredited college or technical school in Mechanical studies is preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Read equipment manuals and diagrams.
• Understand and be able to practice basic troubleshooting skills.
