Job summary

SK Food Group in Reno, NV is seeking a Packaging Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Packaging Technician will operate production machinery and troubleshoot when needed.

You will set up and run the machine within safety practices and time frames, perform adjustments, complete film and ribbon changes, verify components, check labels and dates, sign documentation, monitor equipment, and communicate with Supervisors and fellow Technicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certificate in Mechanical studies preferred
• 6 months related experience or training
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
• Read equipment manuals and diagrams
• Basic troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the machine within safety practices and time frame
• Perform necessary setting adjustments
• Change films and ribbons including dye changes
• Ensure products have correct components before packing
• Check labels, seals and date placement during shift
• Fill out and sign required documentation before each run
• Monitor equipment to prevent downtime
• Communicate with Supervisors, Leads and other Technicians

We are looking for a Packaging Technician to join our team in Reno, NV. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Packaging Technician will Operate production machinery and troubleshoot when needed.

• Responsible for the set up and operation of the machine within accepted safety practices and the allotted time frame.


• Properly perform necessary setting adjustments.


• Properly perform film changes and ribbon changes including changeover from one dye to another.


• Ensure the products have the correct components before packing them.


• Continuously check the label, seals and date placement throughout the shift to ensure that every package label and date is correct.


• Fill out and sign all required documentation before each run.


• Monitor equipment operation to prevent unscheduled downtime.


• Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, Production Leads and other Packaging Technicians on any situations arising during their shift.


• Other duties as assigned.

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Certificate from accredited college or technical school in Mechanical studies is preferred.


• Minimum of 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.


• Read equipment manuals and diagrams.


• Understand and be able to practice basic troubleshooting skills.
