Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Jackson, TN is seeking a packaging associate to efficiently package products and ensure quality at each step. You will inspect, sort, and assemble packaging materials while maintaining records and adhering to TPM/5S standards.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to four years high school, with emphasis on office or shop skills.
• Must be able to perform repetitive work.
• Must be able to work overtime with little notice.
• Must be able to read and understand numbers.
• Must be able to work safely and use required PPE.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed posted production hourly rates.
• Manually perform one or more packaging functions such as filling, marking, labeling, boxing, or wrapping.
• Pack customer orders meeting customer expectations.
• Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of the packaging process to ensure standards of quality and quantity are maintained.
• Verify customer order and product being packed match.
• Visually inspect for defective product or materials during packaging process and remove any that do not meet the level of quality expected.
• Obtain and sort product to be packaged, manually fold and assemble packaging materials and pack special arrangements or selections of product.
• Make necessary adjustments as required by product specifications.
• Work as a cooperative member of the team.
• Maintain a clean, uncluttered workplace performing TPM and 5S as scheduled.
• Accurately maintain required records.
• Attend training to maintain and/or increase skills and help train others as needed.
• Adjust work schedule to meet needs of other shifts when necessary.
• Any other duties as assigned.
