Job summary

The Campbell's Company is seeking a Packaging Technician to keep the production line running smoothly. You will lead line setup, support changeovers, and monitor packaging processes ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

You will work with operators to run machines, record outputs, and communicate production goals to the next shift while contributing to 5S and continuous improvement initiatives on the plant floor.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Be able to obtain Lockout/Tag out Certification.
  • Must have good solid Computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team in line setup and changeover; identify controls.
  • Provide production run sheets for operators to complete daily production run.
  • Update production system and/or case total board with completed case counts for next shift.
  • Maintain raw material inventory and communicate discrepancies as needed.
  • Set up and operate multiple machines in the packaging area.
  • Assist with keeping the production line consistently operating and clear of jams.
  • Responsible for basic troubleshooting and making minor adjustments as needed.
  • Assist and/or troubleshoot packaging machinery codes, dates and prices.
  • Assist and/or submit maintenance work orders.
  • Perform or assist with Preventative Maintenance (PM) as needed.
  • Monitor and check weights and product appearance as required.
  • Maintain GMP, PPE, safety, and quality policy compliance; validate employee compliance.
  • Assist with communications to Quality Assurance on holds, changeovers, etc.
  • Assist supervisor in completing daily line paperwork on KPIs.
  • Read and understand machine data.
  • May assist Packaging Coordinator or Supervisor with training of new employees and operators on the line.
  • If applicable, run checks on metal detectors to ensure proper operation.
  • Keep work area aisles/exits clear and free from obstruction; remove trash from floor.
  • Support CI initiatives including 5S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain).
  • Follow safety lifting instructions; report equipment issues and injuries.
  • May perform sanitation tasks (equipment washes, tear down/reassembly, seasoner cleaning, wipeouts).
  • Mandatory overtime may be required.
  • May perform other duties as required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required.

Professional Licenses or Certifications

Be able to obtain Lockout/Tag out Certification.
