Job summary

Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Packaging Technician in Faribault, MN. You will operate packaging equipment, perform safety checks, and document production data while supporting a fast-paced food production team.

This temporary/contract role offers $19.70 per hour paid weekly, with a 3rd shift schedule and opportunities for overtime, cross-training, and benefits options through Benefits in a Card where applicable.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment and assist with line changeovers.
• Perform safety and quality checks, audits, and record production data.
• Identify and report equipment issues; communicate maintenance needs.
• Complete basic maintenance tasks and cleaning per GMP/SQF.
• Rotate packaging positions and support cross-training across the unit.

About the Opportunity

Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Packaging Technicians for a food production company in Faribault, Minnesota. In this role, you’ll operate and maintain packaging equipment while helping ensure products meet important food safety and quality standards. If you enjoy hands-on work, troubleshooting equipment, and working as part of a fast-paced production team, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Do as a Packaging Technician

• Operate packaging equipment including palletizers, depalletizers, labelers, tray formers, stretch wrappers, pallet labelers, and conveyors
• Perform safety and quality checks, line observations, quality audits, and required production documentation
• Identify and correct equipment issues to help maximize production efficiency and communicate maintenance needs
• Complete basic preventative maintenance and corrective work orders as assigned
• Clean and sanitize machines and work areas according to GMP, SQF, food safety, and quality standards
• Complete production changeovers and communicate equipment, product, and quality information during shift transitions
• Rotate between packaging positions and cross-train on equipment throughout the Business Unit

What You Need to Bring to the Packaging Technician Role

• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 65 pounds consistently and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, and climb stairs throughout the workday
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety procedures, production schedules, and quality documentation in English
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, weights, and measurements
• Ability to accurately complete production records, logs, and other required documentation
• Ability to work overtime and weekends when required
• Willingness to cross-train, work as part of a team, and follow food safety, quality, GMP, SQF, and company procedures
