Job summary

Didion Milling is seeking a Packaging Technician to ensure proper packaging of products and to operate packaging machinery and PLCs. You will monitor processes to maintain quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance, while assisting with material movement and documentation.

You will prepare packaging materials, inspect finished goods, and uphold safety standards. A High School diploma or GED is required, and forklift experience is a plus; strong English communication and teamwork are essential.

  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously with problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate packaging machinery and PLCs to maintain production flow.
  • Prepare and assemble packaging materials with hand tools.
  • Inspect packaged products for defects per FDA and CGMP.
  • Maintain packaging logs and inventory, including forklift tasks.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper packaging of products in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining product quality, safety, and efficiency in our manufacturing processes.DutiesOperate packaging machinery and equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), to ensure smooth production flow.Prepare and assemble packaging materials using hand tools and mechanical knowledge.Monitor packaging processes to meet quality standards, adhering to FDA regulations and CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices).Conduct routine inspections of packaged products for defects or inconsistencies.Maintain accurate documentation of packaging activities, including logs and reports.Use forklift and warehouse experience skills to manage inventory and move materials safely within the facility.Assist with assembly tasks related to packaging components as needed.Qualifications:High School Graduate, GED, or equivalent experience.Basic driving skills required; forklift driving experience a plus.General computer competency requiredPrevious experience in a manufacturing environment, in particular a food safe environment, a plus.Ability to work autonomously using critical thinking, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills to complete assigned tasks safely without supervision.Demonstrate ownership of job function and area equipment.Demonstrate personal initiative and collaborative, team player approach.Ability to proactively drive continuous improvement project creation and execution.Ability to read, write and speak English fluently in order to communicate effectively with team members within and external to pack department.What you can expect at Didion:Respect, Appreciation, Flexibility, TrustA team environment where coworkers help each other succeedResources and support to maximize your skills through career-developmentExcellent work/life balanceMeaningful work that changes the lives of millions of peopleDidion Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
