Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals LLC in Boston, MA is offering a six-month Co-op in Technical Operations – Packaging. The role provides real projects, mentorship and flexible work options with hybrid/on-site eligibility.

You will engage in packaging development, project intake tooling, and cross-functional collaboration to support product launches and manufacturing readiness. The program runs January–June 2027, with a deadline of November 15, 2026.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program in Packaging Sciences or Packaging Engineering.
• Interested in pursuing a career in pharmaceutical packaging.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Experience with MS Office applications (Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Planning and organizational skills are required.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States for the internship/co-op, Vertex does not sponsor.
• Must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before June 2027.
• Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from January to June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the preparation of plans, designs, data collection methods, and reports.
• Creating materials and tools to support process improvement initiatives, including a project intake tool.
• Conducting process mapping sessions for project intake tool development.
• Testing primary and secondary packaging components for product launches in 2024, with draft reports.
