Job summary

L’Oréal USA in Florence, Kentucky, is looking for a seasoned Manufacturing Manager to lead production cells, coach operators, and uphold safety, quality, and productivity goals. You will manage 8-12 employees across 5-6 lines per shift and drive training, coaching, and performance reviews.

You will spearhead line-improvement efforts, coordinate TPM activities, and ensure ongoing adherence to safety, GMP, and budget targets while partnering with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing management role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and embraces safety culture and safety mission in the plant.
  • Supports and embraces Quality and Environmental missions.
  • Operates in manufacturing cells, runs lines and performs washouts as needed.
  • Monitors performance indicators and drives actions to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity.
  • Facilitates TPM activities and labor system reporting.
  • Oversees inventory management and scheduling of personnel.
  • Coordinates operator line assignments and line priorities; requests temporary staff as needed.
  • Provides training, coaching and performance reviews for operators and mechanics.
  • Leads line improvement teams and implements OEE tracking against goals.
  • Ensures safety, quality, OEE and budget compliance; audits GMP rules.
  • Ensures orientation/training for temporary employees.
  • Demonstrates can-do attitude and leads others to excellence.

What You Will Learn:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. 1. Fully Supports an interdependent safety culture and works proactively to accomplish the safety mission in the plant of zero accidents.
  2. 2. Supports and embraces the Quality and Environmental missions of the Plant.
  3. 3. Capable of performing operational roles in the cell such as running lines and performing washouts. Provides operational support to the cell lines when needed.
  4. 4. Continually assesses the performance indicators of the cell and develops actions to improve L’Oréal Industrial Objectives: Safety, Quality Productivity, with a short-term and long-term vision.
  5. 5. Assists in facilitating TPM activities.
  6. 6. Labor System Reporting.
  7. 7. Inventory Management.
  8. 8. Coordinates UP activity (operator line assignments, communication of line priorities, scheduling/requesting temporary employees, meetings and trainings)
  9. 9. Support staff development to ensure that all cell personnel can conduct production operation efficiently.
  10. 10. Responsible for 8-12 Employees including Operators, Mechanics & Temporaries and 5-6 Lines on a Shift.
  11. 11. Responsible for all training, coaching and performance reviews for operators and mechanics.
  12. 12. Responsible for Technical Coaching & technical training of team.
  13. 13. Leads & Drives Line Improvement Teams, and holds daily & weekly Intervention for OEE Tracking vs. Goal
  14. 14. Is accountable for Safety, Quality, OEE, and Budget. Regularly audits Safety, Quality, GMP rules.
  15. 15. Ensure proper orientation/training of temporary employees.
  16. 16. Fully embraces a can-do attitude and the drive to lead others to excellence.
What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree (Engineering degree) preferred or equivalent experience.

Experience: 3+ years in a manufacturing management role, like industry.

Skills: Good written and oral communication skills, proven organizational

skills, strong technical skills, and mechanical aptitude, excellent

computer skills, coaching mentality, and strong problem-solving skills.
