Job summary

RRD Company in the United States is seeking an experienced packaging and display designer to lead the design phase of packaging projects. You will analyze objectives, create structural designs, and develop prototypes that meet manufacturing criteria and customer expectations.

You will design and produce visual communications across formats, manage digital art assets, and coordinate with agencies and printers.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in packaging design or related field with 5+ years of packaging design experience.
Ability to identify critical elements and alternatives to develop solutions.
Organize resources and incorporate new information to implement effective solutions.
Clear and courteous communication with stakeholders.
Strong business acumen and collaboration to resolve problems.
Proficient in Windows/MAC and packaging tools to complete assignments.
Mentor junior team members in tools and systems.

Responsibilities

Translates customer and project input into creative structural design solutions considering manufacturability and cost.
Researches existing products and patents from multiple media.
Obtains concept approval from team before proceeding.
Creates visual communication across formats: packaging prototypes, mockups, 3D drawings, renderings, and technical drawings.
Prepares finished digital art with color and high-resolution files.
Manages prototypes and files through design to production and assembly.
Coordinates with outside agencies, art services, and printers.
Enhances existing concepts and participates in new product patents.
