Job summary

J.S. McCarthy Packaging + Print in Maine is seeking a Packaging Structural Designer to translate customer concepts into production-ready packaging using ArtiosCAD.

You'll collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Production to ensure designs meet customer needs and are feasible on our equipment. You'll develop CAD layouts, dielines, prototypes, and production-ready files, troubleshoot design issues, and pursue improvements in efficiency and material use.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in ArtiosCAD is required.
• Experience with packaging CAD or structural design.
• Understanding of folding carton construction and manufacturing processes.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving.
• Ability to manage multiple projects across departments.
• Prepress Mac experience is a plus.
• Degree or equivalent in a related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify structural packaging designs using ArtiosCAD.
• Develop CAD layouts, dielines, prototypes, and production files.
• Troubleshoot design and production concerns from internal/external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Production to move projects forward.
• Identify opportunities to improve packaging design, efficiency, and material use.
• Follow SOPs and suggest continuous improvement ideas.
