Job summary

Graham Packaging Company in York, Pennsylvania is seeking a Proposal Engineer to drive growth by developing compelling technical solutions and executing all phases of the quoting process.

The role requires analyzing RFQs for rigid plastic packaging, selecting equipment and tooling, gathering data, and communicating cost and schedule to the commercial team. BS in Engineering and tooling experience preferred; offers benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K and PTO.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Systems).
• Experience in product development, operations, or mold and tooling development preferred.
• Packaging/design engineering with experience in closures and/or bottles.

Responsibilities

• Analyze RFQ’s for rigid plastic packaging.
• Develop a technical solution including equipment, technology, plant, and mold & tooling for projects.
• Gather operations, supply chain, and engineering information to complete proposal.
• Answer technical inquiries from sales and customer for bid clarifications.
• Calculate expected line output and capability.
• Accurately estimate, track, and communicate the project cost; pursue cost savings.
• Provide status and progress reports to the commercial organization.
• Facilitate handoff of the technical solution from engineering to pricing.
• Maintain detailed, complete and timely records communicating solution and assumptions.
• Improve the quoting process through tools, templates, and process.
