Job summary

Mill Rock Packaging is seeking a Scheduler to join our Hutchinson, MN facility. You will plan and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands, maximizing efficiencies and throughput.

You will act as the central hub, coordinating with coordinators, supervisors, and leads to keep operations running smoothly. The role requires 3+ years of scheduling experience in manufacturing, knowledge of litho printing and die-cutting, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Three plus years’ experience with scheduling in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Thorough knowledge of litho printing as well as die-cutting, laminating and gluing preferred.
• Embraces Continuous Improvement.
• Computer literate with experience using the Microsoft Office Suite.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Confirm and communicate On-Time Manufacturing (OTM) dates to Coordinators and communicate changes.
• Balance capacity, customer demand, and production constraints using analytical thinking.
• Sequence production schedules to meet commitments and maximize efficiency and throughput.
• Distribute schedules for the next 24 hours to machines, Supervisors, and Leads.
• Escalate to management when lead times extend and propose reductions.
• Provide plans for shortfalls/gains, adjust schedules, and inform relevant personnel.
• Coordinate overtime with production management to satisfy customer requirements.
• Coordinate machine downtime with supervisors, maintenance, and planning.
• Ensure commitments to customers are achievable and communicate alternatives when needed.
• Monitor make-ready and run speeds vs. estimates and align for accuracy.
• Collaborate with production supervisors to adjust schedules based on conditions.
• Respond to customer expedite requests and inform Coordinators of changes.
• Develop understanding of production processes, equipment, and capabilities.
• Lead daily production meetings and drive continuous improvements.
