Job summary

Mill Rock Packaging in Salt Lake City, Utah is seeking a Production Scheduler to plan and maintain orderly production schedules to meet customer demands, maximize throughput, and drive on-time manufacturing. This in-person role reports to the Plant Manager and emphasizes collaboration across shifts and departments.

You’ll use PrintFlow to manage schedules, coordinate downtime, lead daily production meetings, and implement continuous improvements while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience with scheduling in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Thorough knowledge of litho printing as well as die-cutting, laminating and gluing preferred.
• Skills in Microsoft Office, with the ability to create documents, manage spreadsheets, and handle email communications.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt to changing priorities.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate production to meet customer commitments and maximize throughput.
• Distribute daily production schedules to machines, Supervisors, and Leads.
• Collaborate with production supervisors to adjust schedules while maintaining OTMs.
• Coordinate machine downtime with Supervisors, Maintenance, and Planning teams.
• Escalate extended lead times to management and propose solutions.
• Provide contingency plans for production shortfalls or gains and communicate changes.
• Respond promptly to customer expedite requests and update coordinators on OTM changes.
• Track actual speeds versus estimates and aim to align them closely.
• Lead daily production meetings and keep teams informed and aligned.
• Work with management to schedule overtime when needed to meet demand.
• Take proactive steps to prevent quality issues and drive improvements.
