Job description

A day in the lifeYou start by calibrating color profiles to lock in consistency. A rush carton project lands on your screen—you preflight the customer’s Illustrator file, repair missing links and fonts, and set up imposition for plate-making. A quick step‑and‑repeat for a label run, then vector paths for a spot coating on a flexographic plate. You RIP the files for proofing, examine the Epson output against G7 targets, and send a digital proof for approval. After reviewing folding carton artwork for completeness and dieline accuracy, you generate production-ready files and plates. By afternoon, you’ve archived the job using automated software and coordinated embossing and stamping die specs with a trusted vendor—all while tracking work orders to keep delivery on schedule. What you’ll doPreflight, validate, and optimize customer artwork for multiple print technologies.Create working files; impose for plate-making and final production.RIP files for proofing and press output; produce and inspect digital proofs.Develop step‑and‑repeat layouts and spot coating vector artwork for flexographic plates.Review folding carton art for accuracy, completeness, and print readiness.Manage color using profiles and calibration tools; ensure consistency across jobs.Generate printing plates and production-ready assets.Archive/retrieve files via automated archival software.Partner with designers, customers, and production to resolve technical issues.Coordinate with vendors for embossing and stamping dies and specialty services.Follow production schedules and work orders to meet deadlines.About you3+ years of prepress experience in packaging, labels, or commercial print.Degree/diploma in Graphic Design, Packaging Technology, or related field preferred.Fluency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and ArtPro+ on PC-based systems.Knowledge of color management, RIPs, and digital proofing; Epson proofers and G7 a plus.Strong troubleshooting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Clear communicator with excellent organization, problem-solving, and attention to detail.Preferred exposureHands-on work with folding cartons, labels, flexible packaging, or similar packaging print environments. Why OliverOliver Inc. brings more than 250 years of craft to printing and packaging across multiple production facilities.
