Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. at the Wilson, NC site seeks an Associate Specialist in Technical Operations Engineering to provide hands-on support for packaging and medical device assembly lines.

You will troubleshoot equipment, review data, prepare documents, and coordinate with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance to drive project execution and equipment transfers. Minimum BS in Engineering or equivalent is required; experience with GMP manufacturing and deviation investigations is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent technical degree is required.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting interest for packaging/process equipment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to packaging operations for equipment problems on in-line products.
• Author quality incidents and support root cause analysis and deviation investigations.
• Assist with design, qualification of packaging components and formats; medical device and combination products.
• Support scale-up, tech transfer, and introduction of new products or processes; assist with equipment readiness and process performance qualifications.
• Prepare, route, and complete tasks for process change controls and packaging/equipment changes.
• Build process understanding by analyzing equipment performance data and supporting line trials.
• Contribute to site inspection readiness by organizing technical documentation and supporting audits.
• Perform site records management and assist with document archival/retrieval.
• Assist with project administration activities including PO issuance, invoices, and site workflows for non-production orders.
