Job summary

Silgan Containers in Georgia is seeking a production worker responsible for trimming, inspecting and packing containers and parts on line 1. You will move 95-gallon cans to the compactor, monitor quality, and document results on required sheets.

You will follow the pick list, apply tickets to finished packages, assist with jams, housekeeping, and safety reporting, while participating in routine safety and quality meetings. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced molding/packaging environment.

• Read and understand the pick list and follow instructions.
• Maintain safety and quality standards on the production floor.
• Work well in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Trim, inspect and pack containers or parts on line 1.
• Move 95-gallon trash cans to the compactor and return after emptying.
• Inspect and pack bottles on assigned lines, repack area or during rework.
• Monitor production for quality defects and inform supervisor of issues.
• Apply tickets to finished packages correctly.
• Read and follow the job pick list and ensure line compliance.
• Document data on exception reports and pack/inspection sheets as required.
• Start, stop, reset and clear jams on conveyors and labeling equipment.
• Complete housekeeping duties in assigned areas.
• Complete safety observation forms and report hazards.
• Participate in monthly safety and/or quality meetings.
• Adhere to Silgan safety policies.
• Empty reject bins and grind scrap as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
