Job summary

L’Oréal is seeking a Packaging Operator for the North Little Rock, AR facility. You will manage packaging lines, ensure quality and safety, and assist with changeovers to keep production on schedule.

The role requires at least 1 year of production experience, ability to lift 30 pounds, and flexibility for 2nd shift and overtime. High school diploma or GED is preferred. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in production/processing areas and with relevant machinery.
• Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Able to stand, bend and perform repetitive tasks for long hours.
• Willing to work off shifts, including overtime.
• High School education or GED equivalency preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain manual, semi-automatic and automatic packaging lines and presses.
• Coordinate line changeovers and request assistance as needed.
• Train and assist Packaging staff while ensuring GMPs and quality records.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping and production control per L’Oréal procedures.
• Assist with inventory and material movement to support line completion.

Position Overview/Position Responsibilities

This position works in the creation and packaging of cosmetics and is responsible for keeping production and processing activities running efficiently and safely within the established quality and production standards, through maintenance of machinery.

Full Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the below listing:

• Total operation of manual, semiautomatic and automatic packaging lines and presses including quality control, material procurement, line set up and adjustment of product within specifications, light preventative maintenance and communications as required to operate the line.
• Ability to coordinate “changeovers” in production and request assistance from Line Mechanics in “changeover” process.
• When required, trains and assists Packaging employees, observes work being performed to ensure that proper procedures are followed, cosigns pertinent records and maintains a smooth flow of production in the work area.
• Assists in operation of the department with particular care toward GMP’s sanitization, quality control, safety, housekeeping, production control and L’Oréal operating procedures.
• May be required to attend training programs necessary to maintain the high standard of L’Oréal employees, whether in house or off the premises.
• Continual cooperation with management in the development and implementation of processes for improvement: e.g. quality, line and plant efficiency, housekeeping, etc.
• The changeover of a line, including sanitization of parts, to establish GMPs.
• Responsible for movement, documentation and supply of incoming components and bulk to the packaging lines and finished product and materials from the lines to the staging area.
• Responsible for all production and inventory controls including; ordering the next scheduled job, recording of inventory, personnel, production and inventory close‑out transactions.
• The ongoing upkeep of the line including housekeeping.
• Informs supervision of irregularities.
• Performs all other work relative to Packaging as directed.

Physical Requirements

• Must be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Must be capable of repeated bending, lifting and standing for long hours.
• Must communicate effectively in the English language (written and verbal).
• Must wear all proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
