Base pay range

$15.00/hr - $16.00/hr

Job Summary: The Packaging Operator at SBM Life Science will report into our manufacturing plant in Pasadena, TX. As a Packaging Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining operating equipment at our plant. This role involves ensuring the safe and accurate packaging of our product, adhering to safety and quality standards. You will be responsible for maximizing production efficiency by minimizing downtime and waste.

Machine Operations

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Labeling, capping, torqueing, and sealing bottles
• Making displays, which requires standing in assembly lines for long periods of time
• Placing finished production in boxes
• Ensure the proper container, closing mechanism, label, seals, cartons, pallets, and/or bulk drums are being utilized
• Monitoring machine to ensure proper set up to meet production requirements
• Maintain a safe working environment-report deficiency to supervisor
  
  

Chemical Handling

• Handling all chemical products safely following all OSHA and safety regulations
• Wearing appropriate protective equipment when handling products
  
  

Safety And Quality Compliance

• Inspecting of all tools, equipment, and packaged products routinely ensuring they meet quality standards
• Identifying and reporting any quality issues to leads and supervisors
• Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures, including emergency response procedures
  
  

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED
  
  

Work Experience

• 1-2 years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with chemical handling OR A minimum of 90 days as a SBM
• Must have experience working with various manufacturing machinery and equipment
• Strong understanding of chemical safety regulations
• Flexibility to work shift schedule (days, nights, weekends)

• Must be able to read labels, numbers, and boxes
• Ability to work within a team and independently
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  
  

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and lift for 8-10 hours continuously in a shift.
