Job summary

Merck is offering an unpaid 12-week fellowship for transitioning service members as part of the Hiring Our Heroes program. Participants will engage in various aspects of pharmaceutical packaging to enhance operational efficiency through hands-on experience and mentoring.

This role requires strong problem-solving and project management skills to identify improvements in packaging processes, along with a commitment to the company's mission of quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be transitioning service member fellows who will complete the program within the last 180 days of transition from military service.
• Must be an active participant in the current cohort of the Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) Corporate Fellowship Program.

Responsibilities

• Partner with team members to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze and optimize processes supporting and enabling packaging.
• Develop strategies, tools, and actions to meet site and corporate targets.

Skills

Strong maintenance, troubleshooting and operations knowledge

Cross-functional collaboration applying project management and organizational skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Work experience in a results-driven environment

Strategic/critical thinking

Experience working on cross-functional teams

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
