Job summary

Mars, Incorporated and its Affiliates is seeking a Packaging Operator in Chattanooga, TN, to maintain line relief, ensure shift continuity, and lead the packaging area with practical technical support.

You will perform changeovers, oversee sanitation and CIL activities, and participate in production records and digital systems work. Expect collaboration with cross-functional teams to sustain high-speed production and quality.

Qualifications

• Technical background and machinery experience are required.
• High school diploma or equivalent education is required.
• Hands-on operational experience with high-speed manufacturing or packaging machinery.
• Good troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills for faults and deviations.
• Ability to lead by example and adapt to dynamic floor conditions.
• Familiarity with GMP, OSHA standards, and SOPs.
• Functional literacy with production tracking tools and digital forms

Responsibilities

• Line relief and shift continuity to prevent bottlenecks and protect targets.
• Provide flexible coverage during planned downtime or staffing gaps.
• Lead packaging area operations and direct floor priorities to hit daily outputs.
• Diagnose minor stoppages and escalate issues as needed.
• Uphold SOPs, GMPs and workplace safety across packaging cells.
• Assist in changeovers and perform sanitation and lubrication tasks.
• Coordinate pre-planning with team leads for line shutdowns.
• Assist with batch records and yield reconciliation.
• Audit work orders and review run metrics in the Production Summary system.
• Provide secondary leadership coverage as needed.
• Serve as SME for equipment operation and process troubleshooting.
• Drive onboarding and signoffs via Nexus training modules.
• Own Autonomous Maintenance initiatives and defect handling.
• Support future pillar rollouts and continuous improvement
