This position emphasizes attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and trade school training in electrical or mechanical fields, with dairy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain machines with respect to bearings, assembly, disassembly, power transmission, rigging, and lubrication.
• Perform bench work using common hand tools.
• Collaborate with a senior mechanic on electrical systems and components.
• Learn rudimentary pipefitting of water, steam, and air lines with various materials.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and assist on major overhauls.
• Train on shop equipment and machinery.
• Assist in job layouts and material orders with higher classifications.
• Help diagnose and troubleshoot machine failures.
• Prepare daily with a complete hand tool set per supervisor.
