Job summary

Lactalis USA in Buffalo, NY is hiring a Production Mechanic/1st shift. This entry-level role provides training and is designed as an apprentice level with potential to advance while working on production equipment and major utility systems.

You will perform daily PMs, troubleshoot and repair equipment, assist on overhauls, and learn basic pipefitting; clear communication and eagerness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• HVAC experience is required.
• Mechanical experience is necessary.
• Electrical abilities are necessary.
• Stationary engineers/ammonia refrigeration experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventative maintenance (PMs) on designated equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment in production operations, utilities, buildings & grounds.
• Maintain machines with respect to bearings, assembly, disassembly, power transmission, rigging, and lubrication.
• Learn to do rudimentary pipefitting for water, steam, and air lines with steel, plastic, and copper pipe materials.
• Assist upper class mechanic on major overhauls and learn to identify potential issues.
