Qualifications

• High School diploma required; trade school training in electrical or mechanical fields preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Good written and verbal communication; dependable and tactful.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains machines including bearings, assembly, disassembly, power transmission, rigging, and lubrication.
• Performs bench work with common hand tools.
• Collaborates with senior mechanics on electrical systems and components.
• Learns pipefitting for water, steam, and air lines with various pipe materials.
• Performs preventive maintenance and assists on major overhauls; identifies issues and reports them.
• Trains on shop equipment and machinery.
• Assists in job layouts and ordering of materials to complete jobs.
• Assists in troubleshooting and diagnosing machine failures.
• Prepares daily with a complete set of hand tools per supervisor.
