Job summary

Red Lodge Ales Brewing Co. seeks a full-time Packaging Manager to run our canning line and assist in the cellar as needed.

This role requires strong attention to detail, safety, and a passion for craft beer, with opportunities to grow within the industry. The ideal candidate will operate and maintain our dual-lane inline canning line, manage packaging duties, and follow SOPs throughout brewing, fermentation, and packaging processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Alpha Brew-Ops canning line, including depalletizer and inline labeler.
• Handle packaging duties including carbonating, kegging, and canning operations.
• Perform CIP and sanitizing of kegs and equipment.
• Log packaging notes and production metrics.
• Follow SOPs across brewing, fermentation, transferring and packaging phases.
• Maintain a clean and organized cellar and cold storage.
• Assist with maintenance and repairs of packaging and draft equipment.
• Support Quality Assurance activities.

Job description

Red Lodge Ales Brewing Co is seeking a full-time Packaging Manager to operate our packaging line, and work in the cellar as necessary. Safety and attention to detail are extremely important.

The primary responsibility of Packaging Manager will be to operate and maintain our dual lane, inline canning line and associated equipment. This employee must be a hardworking, responsible, and self-motivated individual with a passion for craft beer and a desire to continue learning and growing within the industry.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operating and maintaining an Alpha Brew-Ops canning line, including can depalletizer, PL-501 in-line labeler, and multi-format case-former/cartoner
• Packaging duties including carbonating, kegging, and canning operations
• CIP (clean-in-place) and sanitizing of kegs and packaging equipment
• Logging of all packaging related notes and production metrics
• Following SOPs (standard operating procedures) in each phase of brewing, fermentation, transferring and packaging
• Maintaining a clean and organized cellar and cold storage
• Cleaning and maintenance, and occasional repair of cellar, packaging, and draft beer dispensing equipment
• Assistance with Quality Assurance activities

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of three years' experience working on packaging line in a brewery, or other similar beverage manufacturing facility
• Strong organizational habits, a self-motivated work ethic, and good critical thinking/problem solving skills
• Comfortable and proficient in troubleshooting and repairing equipment during unplanned downtime
• Team player and excellent communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
• Heavy physical work including climbing stairs, lifting kegs, pulling hoses, etc.
• Willing to work in wet, hot and cold conditions
• Willing to work in consistently loud environments
• Ability to work safely with potentially hazardous chemicals
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move objects up to 55 pounds and occasionally move and/or maneuver up to 165 pounds safely
