Overview
Responsible for directing and coordinating the maintenance operations, with specific focus on key mechanical maintenance functions, such as preventative and corrective actions on scrolls, pumps and centrifugal machines; to meet objectives in quality, reliability, safety, cost and on-time delivery. The Maintenance Supervisor drives a culture of safety through leading by example, setting expectations and standards, and reinforcing positive behavior during daily business. Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures. Identifies areas of opportunity and develops action plans to address issues, leading successful correction efforts.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee safety and health standards, eliminate hazards, train employees, and promote safety awareness. Manage incident reporting and root cause analysis.
- Take corrective actions to reduce safety risks, maintenance problems, and waste, maximizing equipment availability.
- Review, approve, and schedule maintenance work orders; inspect work for accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate daily maintenance to ensure maximum equipment uptime, utilizing available resources effectively.
- Lead maintenance personnel to achieve continuous operation and maximize repair efficiency.
- Monitor compliance with quality and GMP standards.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs, manage resources, and maintain accurate records.
- Interface with vendors for equipment and parts procurement, and manage technical data for modifications or replacements.
- Review costs and implement measures to minimize unnecessary expenses.
- Supervise maintenance and engineering projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Maintain good housekeeping in all areas and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Review time cards for accuracy and conduct safety meetings.
- Track expenditures and assist in outage planning and maintenance scheduling.
- Support the Reliability Engineer/Planner in outage planning.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, with electrical knowledge a plus.
- Familiarity with NDT, vibration, and oil analysis reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP or similar CMMS platforms.
- Team player with effective communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including weekends and shifts as needed.
Work Experience
- At least five years of related experience; supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in a machine shop and equipment garage environment is a plus.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED.

Location
Baltimore, MD
Salary Range: $75,000 - $139,000 plus bonus, based on qualifications and experience.
