Job summary

Carl Buddig and Company in South Holland, IL is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the Packaging Department. You will repair, report, and advise on equipment within the packaging area to ensure safe, quality food production. You will read schematics, service motors and electrical systems, and maintain records of work performed.

This role requires PLC understanding, electrical/mechanical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with overtime and weekend shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 4+ years in mechanical and/or electrical trades preferred.
• Vocational training in mechanical/electrical trades preferred.
• Able to drive PIT equipment to perform responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Understand PLC ladder logic and industrial electrical systems.
• Repair and maintain packaging department machinery.
• Install, service, and repair motors, heaters, coolers, refrigerators and related equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and proper tool storage.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical systems to component level.
• Prepare written reports on equipment conditions and maintenance.
• Move and position machinery using forklifts and dollies.
