Job summary

Carl Buddig and Company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our South Holland processing department. You will repair, report on, and improve machinery to ensure safe, quality food production.

Responsibilities include installing and maintaining equipment, diagnosing malfunctions, and ensuring proper tool use. Applicants should have 4+ years in mechanical/electrical trades and be able to operate PIT equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 4+ years in mechanical/electrical trades preferred.
• Experience in processing/packaging facilities preferred.
• Able to operate PIT equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair equipment using hand and power tools.
• Service electric motors, heaters, coolers, refrigerators, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems to component level.
• Move machinery using forklifts, pallet jacks, or dollies.
• Read electrical schematics and PLC ladder logic.
