Job summary

McCain Foods USA, Inc. in Washburn, ME is seeking a Packaging Operator Day Shift to operate and monitor automated packaging lines, ensure accurate labeling, and maintain sanitation and safety standards.

You will set up and changeover equipment, monitor throughput, document production records, and collaborate with maintenance, quality, and warehouse teams to meet production goals while adhering to GMP and HACCP requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in food manufacturing/packaging preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment including baggers, weighers, sealers, conveyors, case packers, and palletizing support systems.
• Set up and perform changeovers for different products and formats.
• Monitor production flow and adjust to maintain line efficiency and throughput targets.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues such as jams and alarms.
• Verify weights, seal integrity, labeling accuracy, and lot coding.
• Complete production records and traceability documentation.
• Follow GMPs, HACCP, allergen controls, and food safety standards.
• Perform cleaning and sanitation and maintain organized work areas.
• Adhere to safety procedures including PPE and Lockout/Tagout.
