Job summary

McCain Foods USA, Inc. in Washburn, ME is seeking a Packaging Line Operator for night shift to operate and monitor automated packaging equipment in a potato processing facility.

You will set up, adjust, and changeover formats, verify weights and labeling, maintain documentation, and uphold GMP, HACCP, and safety standards while collaborating with production, maintenance, quality, and shipping teams to meet production targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in food manufacturing, production, or packaging preferred.
• Experience operating automated packaging equipment is a plus.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and SOPs.
• Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP and food safety preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and product quality.
• Able to complete production and traceability documentation.
• Able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Work in environments with varying temperatures, noise, dust, and cold storage.
• Commitment to workplace safety and PPE adherence.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment (baggers, weighers, sealers, conveyors).
• Set up and changeover for different products.
• Monitor production flow and adjust for efficiency.
• Troubleshoot jams, misfeeds, and alarms.
• Verify weights, seal, lot codes, and labeling.
• Complete production records and traceability docs.
• Inspect finished products and packaging materials for quality.
• Follow GMPs, HACCP and food safety standards.
• Perform cleaning and sanitation.
• Adhere to safety procedures including PPE and LOTO.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, warehouse, shipping.
• Participate in continuous improvement and end-of-run cleanup.
