Job summary

Church & Dwight in Lakewood, NJ seeks a Line Mechanic C to maintain and repair packaging equipment on production lines in our manufacturing facility. You will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure machines run safely and efficiently to minimize downtime.

You will work with production teams, train operators and line staff, document work in SAP, and uphold GMP, safety, and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent with relevant vocational/technical certifications.
• At least 2 years technical degree and/or experience as a packaging line mechanic in a food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
• Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting and PLC knowledge.
• Familiar with GMP and FDA regulations.
• Able to train and develop line operators and technicians.
• Proficient with SAP documentation and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Change over, maintain, and repair packaging machinery within required timeframe.
• Alert management to mechanical issues that could shutdown or affect efficiencies; maintain line logs.
• Train and develop Operators, Line Technicians, and Line Leaders on packaging equipment.
• Operate on a minimum of two types of lines (e.g., Dental, AP/DEO, Nair, Household, Display, Aerosol).
• Provide ongoing training and assess progress every 6 months using a 3-Step method.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, and identify persistent problems.
• Perform scheduled set-ups and changeovers.
• Document repairs and create work orders in SAP.
• Determine root cause of failures and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain clean work environment and comply with GMPs, JSAs, and SOPs.
• Wear PPE and follow all safety procedures; handle hazardous chemicals per NJ laws.
• Participate in safety training and apply safety policies to daily tasks.
• Receive general orientation and role-specific training on hazardous chemicals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
