Job summary

Orca Bio is redefining transplant therapy with next‑generation cell therapies and a state‑of‑the‑art facility in Sacramento. We seek an Engineer, Packaging and Labeling to manage packaging, labeling, cold chain systems, and cryogenic equipment supporting commercial products.

Responsibilities include owning packaging components, artwork, and specifications; aligning with GMP and regulatory needs; and sustaining equipment lifecycle while ensuring product integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Engineering is required.
• Advanced degree is preferred.
• 2+ years in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, preferably cell or gene therapy.
• Experience with packaging operations, cold chain management, and GMP.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Own packaging systems for commercial cell therapy products.
• Design and maintain packaging configurations for cryopreserved drugs.
• Develop solutions protecting product quality through manufacturing and shipping.
• Evaluate new packaging tech and drive improvements for robustness and cost.
• Support lifecycle management of packaging systems through development to commercial.
