Job summary

Staffmark is seeking a Packaging Engineer to lead development projects from concept through production for North American customers in Van Wert, OH. The role requires driving trials, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure compliant, high-quality packaging solutions.

You will coordinate with R&D, Quality, Production, and suppliers, while managing timelines and communicating progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Additional training in product development, project management, or manufacturing processes is a plus.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging development projects from concept through testing, validation, approval, and production.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for North American packaging customers.
• Evaluate customer specifications, product requirements, and technical feasibility.
• Coordinate product trials, sample development, testing, and qualification activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, product specifications, data sheets, and validation reports.
• Collaborate with Quality, Production, Planning, Purchasing, Commercial, and R&D teams to ensure successful product launches.
• Ensure packaging products meet customer requirements, quality standards, and applicable FDA regulations.
• Manage project timelines, milestones, priorities, and deliverables while communicating project status to stakeholders.
• Coordinate closely with international R&D teams and support continuous improvement initiatives.
