Job summary

Vorex Packaging is seeking a freelance packaging graphic designer to turn customer logos and artwork into print-ready dieline files for mailer boxes, folding cartons, and gift boxes. This remote contract role is paid by the hour or per design.

You will apply brand guidelines, prepare CMYK/Pantone files, create 3D box mockups, and produce proofs for client reviews. Proficiency in Illustrator and a 3D mockup tool, plus strong written English and USA-friendly overlap with US Eastern time, are

Responsibilities

• Place logos on dielines for mailer boxes, folding cartons, rigid boxes, bags and labels.
• Prepare print-ready files: CMYK or Pantone colours, bleed and safe areas, and layers for foil, embossing/debossing and spot UV.
• Create 3D box mockups and short spin videos for client reviews of proofs.
• Vectorise logos supplied as low-resolution images.
• Follow each customer's brand guidelines (colours, fonts, logo spacing).
• Turn requests around the same or next business day.

About Vorex Packaging

Vorex Packaging is a custom packaging studio for brands in the USA and Canada, with offices in Abingdon, MD and Brampton, ON. Customers tell us what they sell and how it ships; our specialists handle the quote, place the artwork on the dieline and send a digital proof. Nothing prints until the customer approves it. Our production partner then prints, converts and ships the order. We make mailer boxes, folding cartons, rigid gift boxes, bags, labels and other printed packaging.

The role

We are looking for a freelance packaging graphic designer to turn customer logos and artwork into print-ready packaging files and clear proofs. Work comes in per order, so this is a remote contract role paid by the hour or per design.

What you will do

• Place customer logos and artwork on box dielines for mailer boxes, folding cartons, rigid boxes, bags and labels.
• Prepare print-ready files: CMYK or Pantone colours, correct bleed and safe areas, and separate layers for foil, embossing/debossing and spot UV.
• Make 3D box mockups and short spin videos that customers review with their digital proof.
• Vectorise customer logos supplied as low-resolution images.
• Follow each customer's brand guidelines (colours, fonts, logo spacing).
• Turn requests around the same or next business day.

What we need

• A portfolio that shows packaging work on real dielines.
• Strong Adobe Illustrator skills, plus one 3D mockup tool such as Blender, Esko Studio, Pacdora or similar.
• Good written English.
• A few hours a day of overlap with US Eastern time.
• Based in the USA; the Washington DC area and the New York City area are preferred.

Nice to have

• Food or bakery packaging experience.
• Rigid gift box work.
• Product imagery for Shopify or other e-commerce stores.

• Fully remote. You work from home anywhere in the United States.
• Contract work: you invoice us for the work you do; this is not an employee position with benefits.
• Work arrives with real customer orders, so volume moves with demand. We tell you honestly how much there is.
• We talk in writing (email and shared files) with a few hours of overlap with US Eastern time.
