Job summary

Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. is seeking a Lead Packaging Engineer to drive packaging development for new products, cost optimization, and sustainability initiatives.

This role leads cross-functional teams, oversees design and validation of packaging across primary, secondary, and shipment formats, and champions new materials and processes. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of analytical packaging experience, strong knowledge of packaging materials and SAP, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or comparable field.
• 5–10 years of experience in an analytical function.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, processes, and equipment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot problems and manage complex projects.
• Experience with SAP, BOMs, and specifications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily packaging design and optimization projects for assigned product categories.
• Oversee all aspects of package development and validation and manage work plans.
• Lead packaging development across primary, secondary, and shipment packaging.
• Foresee obstacles, manage resources, and minimize schedule risk.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Operations, and Procurement to achieve objectives.
• Lead plant trials and commissioning runs; document results and actions.
