Job summary

Fresh Del Monte Produce Company is seeking a Lead Packaging Engineer to drive packaging design, validation, and cost optimization for our product lines. You will lead cross-functional teams across R&D, Quality, Operations, and Procurement to implement new technologies and improve packaging performance.

The role requires travel to plants and vendors domestically and internationally, with a strong emphasis on reducing risk, improving quality, and supporting market needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or comparable field.
• 5–10 years of experience in an analytical function.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, processes, and equipment.
• Proficient in SAP, specifications, and bill of materials.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily packaging design and optimization projects for assigned product categories.
• Oversee all aspects of package development and validation.
• Lead packaging development across primary, secondary, and shipment packaging.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Operations, and Procurement to meet objectives.
• Lead plant trials and commissioning runs and document results.
