Job summary

Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. is seeking a Lead Packaging Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA to provide technical packaging expertise for new product development, cost optimization, and sustainability projects.

You will lead packaging development across primary, secondary, and shipment packaging while collaborating with R&D, Quality, Operations, and Procurement. The role requires 5–10 years of analytical experience, strong packaging knowledge, and proficiency in SAP, Excel, and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or a comparable field.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, processes, and equipment.
• Experience with SAP, BOMs, and packaging specifications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily packaging design and optimization projects for assigned product categories.
• Oversee all aspects of package development and validation, managing work plans.
• Lead packaging development for primary, secondary, and shipment packaging.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Operations, and Procurement to meet objectives.
• Lead plant trials and commissioning runs; drive risk management and timelines.
