Job summary

Mueller Sports Medicine seeks an Engineering Intern to support packaging design, development, and optimization for its sports medicine products at the Prairie du Sac headquarters. You will work with seasoned engineers to plan, prototype, test, and document packaging solutions.

Qualifications

• Two years of post-high school study and enrollment in the fall at a technical college or four-year university.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in packaging engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• GPA sufficient for good academic standing.
• Strong interest in packaging design and innovation within consumer goods/medical device industry.
• Ability to understand Mueller Safety Systems and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Engineering design and optimization: plan, prototype, evaluate, present findings to executives.
• Support packaging solution design for new and existing products.
• Contribute ideas to improve user experience and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with product development, manufacturing, QA to support packaging lifecycle.
• Material research and testing: identify options, assist in testing and analysis.
• Regulatory compliance: learn requirements and ensure designs meet safety and labeling standards.
• Documentation and reporting: maintain specs, test results, and compliance records; prepare updates.
• Other duties as assigned.
