Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc is seeking a Packaging Engineer I to design and develop packaging solutions that meet customer needs with minimal supervision. You will coordinate with customers to align expectations with sales and manufacturing strategies.

Under the Packaging Design Manager, you will utilize SolidWorks and 3D CAD to create drawings, BOMs, and production-ready specifications, while driving efficiency in production and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

A Packaging Engineering Degree or equivalent is required.
Experience in packaging design for crates, boxes, or foam packaging.
Proficient in English reading, writing and speaking.
Experience in ISTA packaging testing and production workflow design.
Proficient with MS Office and 3D CAD Modeling.

Responsibilities

Manages new product development processes based on customer needs and cost objectives.
Develops drawings and specs to meet operations' and customers' requirements.
Determines product costs, BOMs, and maintains system data.
Drives efficiency in manufacturing through design methods and supports production.
Prepares reports and develops corrective actions per ECO/DCR.
Presents to customers and collaborates with vendors and co-workers.
