Job summary

The Hershey Company is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design, test, and implement packaging solutions for new and existing products. You will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations to ensure packaging meets protection, cost, and sustainability goals.

You will gain hands-on experience in manufacturing environments, supporting trials and product launches while developing drawings, specifications, and BOMs for packaging materials and processes.

Qualifications

• BS in Packaging Engineering preferred, 1–3 years packaging development.
• BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 1–4 years packaging development.
• Basic understanding of packaging concepts and converting technologies.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and commercialize packaging solutions meeting objectives and requirements.
• Design, review, test, and recommend packaging concepts for packaging levels.
• Evaluate materials and automation impacts to optimize efficiency and maintain product integrity.
• Develop testing methodologies and communicate findings to stakeholders.
