Job summary

Rheem Manufacturing Company is seeking a Packaging Engineer to lead packaging development and testing for water heater products. The role supports cost reductions and supply chain effectiveness, collaborating with development teams on transport design and packaging efficiency.

Hybrid work in Montgomery, AL or Fort Smith, AR with relocation assistance and up to 10% travel. Responsibilities include leading packaging concept design, testing protocols, and cross‑functional reviews, while ensuring

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science or Mechanical Engineering.
Broad knowledge of packaging materials, applications and equipment.
Experience with ASTM, ISTA, ISO and related packaging standards.
Experience developing packaging test protocols for a total supply chain.

Responsibilities

Develop packaging for new products and cost reduction projects.
Define and maintain packaging test protocols (PTP) for product distribution models.
Guide teams in assessing products for TSC loads and handling.
Coordinate design of packaging concepts and prototypes with suppliers and internal resources.
Maintain portfolio of packaging projects and success metrics for deployment.
