Rheem Manufacturing Company seeks a Packaging Engineer to lead packaging development, testing, and cost reductions for Water Heater Products. The role is part of Rheem North America and based in Montgomery, AL or Fort Smith, AR with a hybrid schedule (office Mon–Thu, remote Fri).

Relocation assistance is available and up to 10% travel may be required. Responsibilities include developing packaging for new products, defining test protocols, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and pursuing

Qualifikationen

• Diverse knowledge of packaging materials and equipment.
• Experience with packaging qualification standards (ASTM, ISTA, ISO).
• Experience in developing packaging test protocols for total supply chain.
• Experience supporting production start-ups and equipment trials for packaging designs.
• Working knowledge of ArtiosCad, Solidworks, or similar solid modeling software.

Aufgaben

• Develop packaging for new products, cost reductions and other projects.
• Define and maintain packaging test protocols (PTP) for packaging designs in line with distribution models and Total Supply Chain plans.
• Guide development teams in assessing products for TSC loads and handling.
• Engage teams on potential TSC alternatives and handling plans to ensure cost-effective delivery.
• Coordinate design of packaging concepts, prototypes, and testing with suppliers and internal resources.
• Maintain portfolio of packaging projects and success metrics for timely deployment.
• Investigate and troubleshoot packaging problems and opportunities; document findings and corrective actions.
• Evaluate cost reduction and sustainability opportunities through source reduction and design efficiency.
• Stay up to date with packaging technologies and industry resources for new opportunities.
• Conduct cross-functional reviews with Division managers to measure product delivery effectiveness.
