Job summary

Mentor Technical Group is seeking a Packaging Engineer to support and optimize packaging processes in regulated manufacturing environments. This role collaborates with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to ensure compliant, efficient packaging operations.

The candidate should have a technical degree and 3+ years' experience in packaging or process engineering, with GMP/FDA knowledge and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline related to packaging or manufacturing.
• 3+ years of experience in packaging, manufacturing, or process engineering in regulated industries.
• Experience with pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device packaging operations preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of GMP, FDA, validation / change control processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for primary and secondary packaging operations in regulated environments.
• Design, develop, and implement packaging processes, equipment improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support line qualifications, validations, commissioning, and performance verification activities.
• Lead RCA investigations related to packaging deviations and process issues.
• Create and review SOPs, reports, change controls, and technical documentation.
• Evaluate packaging materials and specifications for regulatory compliance and efficiency.
• Coordinate equipment installations, upgrades, and startup activities.
• Monitor line performance and recommend process improvements to boost productivity and quality.
• Support regulatory audits and inspections with QA and Validation teams.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or a related technical discipline
