Sealed Air in Simpsonville, SC is seeking a Packaging Engineer to support global operations and customers by ensuring the use of appropriate packaging materials and by reducing transit damage. You will lead trials, qualify suppliers, and develop standards to cut costs and improve sustainability across North America.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Packaging Engineering or related field, knowledge of statistics, and the ability to manage cross-functional projects with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science or related field.
• Knowledge of statistical techniques and tools and how to apply them.
• Ability to manage projects involving multiple plants and areas.
• Travel up to 10% as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Support Global Operations and customers to ensure acceptable packaging materials are used.
• Conduct packaging trials, validate and qualify new packaging suppliers and materials.
• Develop packaging standards and specifications to reduce damage and cost.
• Design and implement alternate packaging to meet quality, cost, or sustainability goals.
• Coordinate trials with logistics, quality, manufacturing, safety, scheduling and engineering.
• Create standard work instructions for packaging solutions across North America.
• Generate purchase requests in SAP for trial materials.
• Collaborate with Product Technology and R&D to set packaging standards for new products.
• Identify packaging changes for improved performance and sustainability.
