Job summary

Omni Specialty Packaging in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Packaging Engineer to develop and improve packaging systems, materials, and processes for high-volume lubricant packaging. You will collaborate across Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Quality, Procurement, Marketing, and Sales to optimize performance and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
• 3+ years engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with automated packaging equipment and capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain packaging specifications for bottles, caps, labels, cartons, and related materials.
• Lead packaging-related capital projects from concept through startup.
• Perform root cause analysis on packaging defects and recurring issues.
• Support continuous improvement to reduce downtime, scrap, and changeover time.
• Coordinate vendors and internal resources; manage FAT/SAT tests.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and industry regulations.
