Our Place is seeking a Packaging Development Manager to lead structural and graphic packaging across our product line in a hybrid West LA setting. You will partner with Product Development, Operations, Supply Chain, and Creative teams to bring packaging from concept to production, balancing brand identity with protection, cost, and sustainability.

Ideal candidates have hands-on packaging engineering experience, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and a passion for details, with

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in packaging development for consumer products.
• Strong background in mass retail packaging requirements, including Costco packaging and testing.
• Experience with wholesale/retail packaging types (corrugated DTC boxes, color boxes, stickers, sleeves, Costco PDQ).
• Experience managing purchase orders, production, and shipping.
• Knowledge of packaging test standards (ISTA/ASTM) and quality inspections.
• Demonstrated experience with sustainable packaging materials and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging development and structural design from concept to production-ready specs.
• Establish tests and validation protocols (drop, compression, vibration, ISTA) and investigate in-transit damages.
• Drive sustainability initiatives and evaluate new materials/vendors.
• Negotiate with suppliers and manage cost-per-unit targets and lead times.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure packaging supports fulfillment and compliance.
