Job summary

Our Place in Los Angeles is seeking a Packaging Development Manager to lead structural and graphic packaging across our product line, balancing brand experience, protection, sustainability, and cost.

You will partner with Product Development, Operations, Supply Chain, and Creative teams to bring packaging from concept through production while maintaining timelines, quality, and budgets. The role emphasizes hands-on packaging engineering and collaboration in a growing, hybrid workplace.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in packaging development for consumer products or housewares.
• Experience with mass retail packaging and Costco requirements is a plus.
• Experience managing packaging suppliers and cost targets.
• Knowledge of ISTA/ASTM packaging tests and QA processes.
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (spoken) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural and graphic packaging development across Our Place's product line from concept through production-ready specifications.
• Partner with Product Development and Creative teams to ensure packaging reflects brand identity while meeting functional and protective requirements.
• Establish and oversee packaging test protocols to validate protective performance (ISTA standards).
• Evaluate packaging sustainability options and drive cost- and material-optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations/Supply Chain and Compliance to align specs with fulfillment, packaging safety, and regulatory needs.
