Sol de Janeiro is seeking an experienced Manager, Package Development in New York to lead packaging initiatives for body, hair, and lip products. The role partners with cross-functional teams to drive innovative, scalable packaging solutions that meet brand, cost, supply chain, and sustainability goals.

You will manage new development projects, support technical transfers, and lead continuous improvement efforts across suppliers and regions. A strong emphasis on sustainability is expected.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of packaging development experience, preferably in body care, hair, or lip categories.
• Experience leading packaging projects from concept through commercialization.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, components, testing and supplier capabilities.
• Experience working with contract manufacturers and global suppliers.
• Exposure to sustainability or ESG initiatives.

Mansioni

• Lead end-to-end packaging development for new product launches from feasibility through commercialization.
• Develop scalable, supply-chain-efficient packaging solutions aligned with brand, cost, and quality objectives.
• Support risk assessments, feasibility reviews, and technical recommendations for project decisions.
• Own packaging specifications, testing, validation, and documentation for launch readiness.
• Support technical transfers between suppliers, manufacturing sites, or regions as needed.
• Assist with troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of packaging issues.
• Support ESG-related initiatives within Package Development, including sustainability improvements and data gathering for reporting.
• Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to align testing and execution.
• Identify opportunities to enhance speed-to-market, technical rigor, and sustainability outcomes.
