Job summary

Twelve Inc. in New York is seeking a Packaging Designer to join the design team, working with the Associate Art Director to create retail-ready packaging through design execution, mockups, and revisions.

You will collaborate across cross-functional teams, develop concepts with brand tone and market trends, and apply brand guidelines while exploring new materials and production techniques under senior guidance.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of design experience; in-house team or design agency preferred.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
• Ability to combine typography, imagery, color and layout to create impactful designs.
• Experience or interest in illustration or 3D rendering software is a plus.
• Experience preparing print-ready files, dielines, templates, tech packs, and post-production artwork.
• Strong communication, collaboration across teams, and ownership of independent projects.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create retail-ready packaging for a variety of brands.
• Design execution across packaging collections, including layouts, graphics, and visual refinements.
• Research packaging trends, materials, and sustainability initiatives to inform design concepts.
• Create mockups, comps, and basic renderings to visualize packaging ideas.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh ideas within a collaborative team environment.
• Learn and apply brand guidelines to ensure consistency across seasonal and evergreen packaging collections.
• Help maintain organized working files, ensuring assets, links, and versions are clearly labeled.
• Develop packaging concepts with consideration for brand tone, market trends, and price points.
• Support exploration of new packaging materials, structures, and production techniques under senior guidance.
• Incorporate feedback from senior designers, developers, and stakeholders, making revisions as needed.
• Leverage AI to improve process efficiency and automation while preserving individual creativity.

Position Summary

The Packaging Designer works alongside the Associate Art Director and design team in creating retail-ready packaging through design execution, mockups, and revisions. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams and is ideal for a detail-oriented designer eager to learn and grow.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of relevant design experience at an in-house creative team or design agency preferred.
• Highly Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
• Experience combining typography, Imagery, color and layout to create impactful designs.
• Experience or interest in illustration or 3D rendering software is a plus.
• Experience preparing print-ready files, dielines, templates, tech packs, and post-production artwork.
• Ability to generate and communicate ideas visually through sketches, comps, or simple renderings.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams while also taking ownership of independent projects.
• Strong communication skills, Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: $75 -$85k depending on experience.
